Off-Season at the Shore

Off-season with Shorebreak Resorts

Just because the summer season has come to an end, it does not mean you should skip out on the shore until next summer. In fact, the Jersey Shore has so much more to offer during the off-season. No matter the temperature, the ocean still glistens in the sunlight, making trips by the beautiful beaches enjoyable year-round.

The Perfect Weekend Getaway

It’s time to relax. This year has been different than any other. With adjusting to the new styled school year and adaptations with work, a weekend away could be just what you need. As the crowds disappear and the shore towns become a little quieter, the Jersey Shore becomes a great spot to escape to. Allow yourself to take a break from life’s stressors and find tranquility down the shore. It is easy to have alone time by the beach during the off-season. It may feel like your own private oasis as the beaches are near-empty.

Ocean City’s boardwalk

Take time to explore places the locals love most. Sea Isle’s promenade and Ocean City’s boardwalk are more open to walk about or bike, with less of a crowd than just a couple of months ago. This also means there will be fewer lines to support those beloved, local family owned businesses and restaurants in your favorite shore towns. Ocean City, Wildwood, and Cape May favorites like Manco & Manco Pizza, Johnson’s Caramel Popcorn, and The Original Fudge Kitchen are open year-round. Sea Isle keeps everyone updated on local business hours, so you can easily find something to do and know your delicious dining options.

Enjoy the view

Don’t forget to take in the views! Fall is a beautiful season that radiates colors as temperatures cool to breezy ethereal days. It is no longer as hot and humid as July, allowing you to spend more time outside and on the beach. Ocean City was named the best beach in America in Coastal Living Magazine. Walk along the sandy beaches in your coziest fall sweater while the bright sunsets of pinks, oranges, and purples fill the sky.

The coastal community welcomes and encourages you to enjoy that ocean breeze and ambiance of an everlasting summer. After Labor Day weekend, The Dunes in Sea Isle only require a two-night minimum and only a one-night minimum in Ocean City’s Wild Dunes Inn, Impala Island Inn, and Ebb Tide Suites. We are happy to accommodate you, your friends, or your family during your stay, with our locations just a short walk to the beach.

Things to do

Looking for more things to do? If you like to vacation with an itinerary and make the most of your trip by exploring the history and culture of surrounding areas you visit, then look no further. The beaches along South Jersey are home to several different small towns, riddled with history. Check out Lucy The Elephant, a six-story elephant made of wood and tin, that was moved around Margate as she became a tavern and speakeasy. It’s even on the National Park Registry of Historical Landmarks! For more historical sites, climb one of New Jersey’s many historic lighthouses. The Cape May Lighthouse is from 1859 and still operates today. It offers scenic views from the top and has a museum. There are also many family-friendly places to take your children. You can start at The Cape May County Park & Zoo, and see over 500 animals.

Make sure while spending time at the Jersey Shore, you check out some of the breweries and wineries for a fun day out. It is easy to want to spend all day lounging by the sea, however; picture yourself at Cape May Brewery or Willow Creek Winery for a crisp fall cider or with wine in hand and a beautiful setting.
